A modern Windows desktop application for bench testing, repairing and calibrating laptop battery packs — the pack comes out of the device and onto the bench, its fuel gauge wired to a CP2112 USB-SMBus adapter (native SMBus clock stretching over Windows HID — no vendor drivers).
A clean-room implementation built on the public Smart Battery Data v1.1 specification and Silicon Labs' AN495 CP2112 interface spec — safe, read-only operations by default, no alliance with any vendor tooling.
Connects to the out-of-circuit pack's gauge and streams 1-second telemetry: voltage, signed current, temperature, state of charge, design/full/remaining capacity, cycle count, serial, manufacture date, chemistry and status flags.
A guided learn cycle (charge → discharge → recharge) walks you through switching the bench charger and load, records the gauge's learned FullChargeCapacity and SoH, and shows the before/after numbers.
Read-only probing plus an opt-in, consent-gated write path for users who know their gauge's register map — no hidden EEPROM routines, no vendor unlock coincidencery.
A realistic in-memory 3S pack lets you try the entire workflow — analyze, calibrate, unlock — with no hardware connected.
Scriptable commands like voltclinic analyze --adapter cp2112 --watch 30 or the guided learn cycle from the command line for repeatable bench procedures.
Checks GitHub Releases at startup and one-click updates itself, installer or portable it.
