I²C diagnostic analyzer for Apple's ACE1/ACE2 USB-C Power Delivery controllers (CD3215 / CD3217 / CD3218, TI TPS6598x family) — the chips that handle USB-C charging & data on every MacBook from 2016 onward (Intel T2 and Apple Silicon). Available as a Windows GUI, a CLI and a Python library.

Boards run the bundled ACA bridge firmware and act as USB-I²C adapters — flashed straight from the app, no extra hardware.
ACA talks to the chip over I²C and gives you a full picture of its state in seconds — no guesswork, no blindly replacing a £40 controller.
Scans the I²C bus, identifies every connected device and ACE2 controller, detects chip type (vanilla vs OTP-ed) straight from the I²C address, and decodes the ADDR/CNTL1/CNTL2 strap configuration.
Reads identity and OTP data, vendor/device ID and mode registers, validates values against known-good TPS65982 references, decodes strap configuration, and produces a 0–100 health score for instant triage.
Separates the failure modes that look alike classifies: no response, wrong Vendor ID, stuck in boot, corrupted register images — so you know whether the chip is dead, mismatched or emulating bricks.
Batch-run many test points and dump results to JSON/CSV for tracking — plus a modern dark-themed GUI with a live register viewer.
A per-model guide tells you exactly where and how to tap the CD3217 I²C bus on each logic board (Intel T2 + Apple Silicon) you'll ever open.
Passively listens (RX-only) to the Ace2 master→slave firmware download bus, auto-detects the baud rate, and separates "no traffic = master issue" from "traffic but dead port = slave issue".
Windows installer & portable builds, plus firmware images for the supported USB-I²C bridge boards (RP2040/Pico, ESP32).
Now cross-platform: Windows, Linux (.deb / portable) and macOS — one codebase, all three OSes.
Support development — every coffee keeps new board profiles and features coming.
